SOC 1 covers controls relevant to a client's financial reporting (payroll, finance outsourcing). SOC 2 covers security and operational trust (SaaS, cloud, data processing).
1. Scope the system, people, infrastructure and vendors.
2. Gap assessment against the selected criteria.
3. Remediate — access reviews, change management, logging, vendor management, incident response, security awareness, policies.
4. Evidence collection — configure monitoring so evidence is gathered continuously.
5. Audit by a licensed CPA firm; we coordinate evidence and questions.
Auditors can't consult on the same engagement, so readiness work is done separately. We prepare you, then coordinate with the CPA firm for a smooth Type I or Type II. See [SOC 2 services](/services/soc2) and [SOC 1 services](/services/soc1), or [contact us](/contact).
