Service Organization Control (Trust Services Criteria) Audit

SOC 2 Certification & Audit Consultancy in India

SOC 2 has become the de facto security certification for SaaS, cloud and IT service companies selling to US enterprise clients. Indian technology companies are increasingly required by US buyers to produce a SOC 2 Type II report before contracts are signed. We provide end-to-end SOC 2 readiness and attestation support across India.

Overview

What is SOC 2?

SOC 2 is a framework developed by the AICPA assessing a service organization's controls against the Trust Services Criteria: Security (mandatory), Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy. A SOC 2 Type II report covers a 6–12 month period and is the most widely requested security assurance report by US enterprise buyers.

Our Process

How We Deliver SOC 2 Certification

01

Trust Services Criteria Scoping

We determine which Trust Services Criteria (Security + optional: Availability, Confidentiality, Processing Integrity, Privacy) apply and define the system description.

02

Readiness Assessment & Gap Remediation

We assess all controls against the applicable criteria, identify gaps, and implement missing controls — policies, access management, logging, incident response, vendor management, etc.

03

Evidence Program Setup

We establish automated evidence collection, continuous monitoring, and documentation processes to sustain controls throughout the observation period.

04

CPA Firm Attestation Support

We coordinate with the CPA firm, manage the Type I snapshot and Type II observation period, respond to auditor queries, and deliver a clean SOC 2 report.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions — SOC 2 in India

Plan 9–15 months: 3–4 months readiness, 6–12 months observation period, 2–3 months reporting. We help companies achieve SOC 2 Type I (point-in-time) in 3–4 months as a first step to demonstrate security posture to prospects.

US clients prefer SOC 2; European and multinational clients prefer ISO 27001. We recommend pursuing both — approximately 80% of controls overlap. Our integrated approach achieves both certifications efficiently.

Security (CC series — mandatory for all SOC 2 reports), Availability (A series), Processing Integrity (PI series), Confidentiality (C series), and Privacy (P series). Most Indian IT companies start with Security only.

SOC 2 reports cover a specific period (typically 12 months). US clients expect annual renewals. We help you maintain a continuous compliance program so annual renewals are low-effort.

Type I assesses the design of controls at a point in time. Type II assesses both design and operating effectiveness over 6–12 months. US enterprise buyers almost always require Type II.
